How to Make Custom Shapes in Pages, Keynote and Numbers
Using the Shape Tool in Apple iWork suite of programmes is a great way to add interest to your writing, reports, letters, presentations and even books. But there is so much more that you can do with Shapes in Pages, Keynote and Numbers. Whilst there is a great collection of shapes, as Glen says: “Sometimes you just want something that isn’t there. That's when I get creative and, either through combining shapes, or starting from scratch, I develop bespoke shapes or icons to illustrate the point”. You can combine Shapes to make new, never-seen-before icons or use the Pen Tool on Mac to turn your photos into a Shape to use and re-use. Get creative with the Shape Tool and take your work to the next level. This book is a walk-through of using shapes in Pages, Keynote and Numbers but then taking them further to create something unique with numerous examples of bespoke icons that you can follow along to create.
Flash Fictionary Five-O
50 Stories ... 75 Words
Flash Fiction is a piece of fiction known for its brevity. In this work of total imagination, the author, Glen Barham MBE, takes it a step further. Initially a 2020 lockdown project, this compendium has fifty stories, and each has exactly seventy-five words. No more, no less. The title doesn't count, and hyphenated words count as one. Some stories tell everything, while others just scratch the surface and raise more questions than they answer. Meet Mrs Gillespie - the violin teacher, Bazza - the security officer, and Samuel - the research scientist, amongst others. You'll also find a fair few stories inspired by the difficult times brought on by COVID-19. Can you write a story with exactly seventy-five words? Have a read and see if you're inspired to join in.
